I personally read every reviewed book cover to cover. I usually don’t waste time on negatives, though “What I’m Reading Now” might include less than stellar comments. My reviews include fiction and non fiction; with a leaning towards unusual books, thrillers, fantasies, histories, and science. First-time authors are my favorites — it’s great to rave about someone exciting and new. I am not a literary snob — I love Faulkner and Koontz, but for different reasons.

I’m a professional advertising writer and consultant but decided that showing my ad work on line wasn’t near as much fun as writing and celebrating books. After all, reading inspires my writing, so what could be more natural? I have ghosted a couple of books in my career, but could never bring myself to do all the work that goes into writing a book without knowing in advance I was getting paid.

That’s yet another reason to celebrate those who do.
